How to Use a Sizing Kit (and Why It Matters)

Finding your perfect nail size is the foundation of a flawless set. If your nails don’t fit properly, they won’t look as natural, feel as comfortable, or last as long.

That’s exactly why we always start with a sizing kit.

Why sizing matters

Press on nails are not one size fits all.

Each nail should fit your natural nail from sidewall to sidewall without overlapping your skin or leaving gaps between the press on and your skin or pinching your natural nail. When the size is correct, your set will:

  • Sit flush and look natural
  • Feel comfortable for everyday wear
  • Stay on longer with proper application
  • Feel like a snug hug

If a nail is too small, it can pop off easily. If it’s too big, it will lift early and feel bulky.

Important to know

Sizes are not interchangeable between shapes and lengths.

This means your size in a short square will not be the same as your size in a medium almond. Even small differences in shape can change the fit.

That’s why we require a sizing kit in each shape & length you plan to order whenever possible.

How to use your sizing kit

  1. Start by pushing your cuticles back
  2. Try on each nail and match it to each finger
  3. The correct size should sit edge to edge without forcing it
  4. If you are between sizes, choose the slightly larger one and lightly file the sides for a perfect fit
  5. Write down your sizes in order from thumb to pinky

Example: 0 4 3 5 7

Pro tips

  • Size both hands. They are often slightly different
  • Do not guess your size based on photos or past sets from other brands
  • Keep your sizes saved somewhere safe for quick and easy reordering
